Who is Team DKMS ?

At first glance Team DKMS is one guy roadracing his kart with the support of his wife, family and friends. It takes little more digging to understand that Team DKMS is a team of over 2.7 millon people. That’s right, 2.7  millon team members! That’s how many people are registered through DKMS Americas as bone marrow donors. That’s got to be one of the largest teams in the world!

I am a registered bone marrow donor not because someone in my family has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. I am a registered donor because until leukemia is eliminated all together the odds are that someone will need me or one of my team members to step up and save a life.

DKMS Americas donors have been responsible for providing marrow and stem cells for over 25,000 transplants. That’s an amazing number based on the fact that less than 1% of the donors tested become a match.

My goal is to use my passion for racing as a vehicle to get people registered. So, even though I don’t travel to the races with all of my team members they are the inspiration that drives me.
